Occasion guide

Get the group there, and agree how everyone gets home

A concert night has more than one fixed moment: meeting before the show, entering with valid tickets and finding each other when it ends. Agree those details before everyone is busy travelling.

Confirm the essentials before leaving

  • Check who holds each ticket and how each person will access it.
  • Review the current official door and performance times.
  • Check venue entry, bag and accessibility information.
  • Confirm each person's actual journey home.

Different ticket holders may use different gates or areas. This generic checklist supplies no gate number, show time or venue policy: check the organizer's current information for your actual event.

Agree two meetups, not just one

Choose a pre-show meeting place and a post-show reunion point. Check that both places are identifiable and permitted for gathering. Share a separate instruction for each:

“Meet at [chosen landmark and location] at [time]. If we cannot meet there, go to [checked backup place]. We will wait until [agreed time], then follow [agreed next step].”

Avoid “outside” when the venue has several exits. Agree what happens if someone leaves early or travels home separately.

What if messages do not arrive?

Agree where to go and what to do before the show. Write the instructions down or save them on your own device in advance. Do not make the fallback depend on receiving a new message. This advice does not promise offline access in Cairn.

An evening outline to adapt

  1. Optional meal: confirm who is joining and what they agree to spend.
  2. Pre-show meetup: use the checked meeting instruction.
  3. Entry and show:follow each person's ticket and the official schedule.
  4. Post-show regroup: follow the reunion instruction or the agreed fallback.
  5. Journey home: take the confirmed separate or shared return journeys.

Set times from the actual performance and transport bookings. This outline is a starting point for your group, not a venue itinerary.

Keep the meal decision separate

Five people might join dinner while eight attend the show. If those five agree to split a fictional €100 dinner equally, record €20 for each of the five dinner attendees. The concert group and dinner group are different participant lists. Confirm who is included and how to split each shared purchase. Individually bought tickets do not become a shared expense.

Keep ticket details private

Keep ticket codes, booking references and phone numbers in your private group space. This public checklist describes the arrangements to agree, not your group's details.

Keep one plan the group can check

Cairn's manual friends' weekend demo uses a separate fictional example: an itinerary, dinner attendance and an illustrative expense split among six dinner attendees. It is not a concert night or a created trip.
