Occasion guide
Different sets, a day you still share
Tickets are booked, but everyone has a different must-see act. You can split up for performances and still share the day. Agree the moments you want together, where to find each other and how each person gets home before you enter the crowd.
Check the programme and entry arrangements
- Check the organiser's current programme, stage names and any changes before setting your plans.
- Ask each person which sets they want to see and which shared moments they will join. Nobody has to attend every set.
- Confirm each person has their own ticket and check entry windows, bag rules, permitted items and re-entry conditions.
- Check the official site map and access information together. Confirm any access needs with the organiser; do not assume a route or meeting point is suitable.
- Confirm return transport and each person's latest departure time before choosing a final set.
Choose meetups that survive a flat battery
Choose a clearly identifiable, permitted meeting point from the official map, away from entrances, exits and busy crowd routes. Check that everyone can reach it. Agree a regrouping window, how long to wait and a backup if the point becomes unavailable.
“Meet at [checked place] between [start] and [end]. Wait until [agreed time]. If that place is unavailable, use [checked backup]. If we cannot reach each other, follow [agreed next step].”
Save the instructions and useful official information offline before arrival. Include a separate end-of-day reunion and what to do if someone misses it. A meeting fallback is not an emergency plan: for an urgent concern, use the festival's official assistance arrangements.
Build the day around a few shared moments
- Arrival: meet before entry if practical, check tickets and confirm the next shared window.
- Chosen performances: let smaller groups follow their own sets. Allow realistic time for moving between areas using checked official information.
- Shared break: regroup for food or a rest if you have opted in, then confirm the next meeting instruction.
- Final reunion: meet at the agreed point with enough time for the confirmed journey home. Earlier departures follow their own agreed arrangements.
This is an outline to adapt, not a festival timetable. Replace it with the actual programme and your group's choices. Check updates during the day; never invent stage times, walking routes or accessible facilities.
Keep shared purchases separate from personal choices
Six friends attend the festival; four opt into a shared return ride. If those four agree to divide a fictional €80 fare equally, each owes €20. The two travelling separately are not in that ride split.
Tickets, food and other journeys can have different payers and participants. Agree what is shared, who pays upfront and how costs are divided before buying. Attendance at the same festival does not make every purchase a group expense; the example is not a default fairness rule.
Keep one plan the group can check
Cairn's manual friends' weekend demo shows an itinerary, dinner attendance and an illustrative expense split among the six dinner attendees. It is a fictional demonstration, not a created trip.
